Anna's Summer Vacation

The first part of her summer she went to Bethel because she was sick. Then after she was better she and her family went camping for three or four days. They were egg hunting but there weren't many eggs so they just rode around hunting birds and looking around. She said it was especially scary when they had to cross a big lake through big waves. They also went berry picking and fish rodding for two to three days. "We'd go out every day to pick berries," she said.

"When we'd see bear tracks that was scary too. I also caught a pike fish but the pike fish came off. We had pike fish for lunch and that was really tasty. The last day we rarely did anything because it was too hot. I went out drifting for fish. It was scary because I thought that we'd hit a snag. But it was good. We'd see the net going up and down every now and then and we knew we caught some fish."

"I also went down to Pilot and came back up by Owl Slough. We saw a fox plus lots of tracks. I went out logging for a tow sled and we drove around in a slough up the river. It rained on us for a while then it passed. After the rain passed, we went and had lunch. Then we came down. I also had to go to Bethel again. This time I had to bring Kathy over because she had a four-wheeler accident at the airport. That really scared me."
