Circling Marshall

"A couple of years ago while I was flying back from Bethel with Yute Air we had a really scary experience landing here at the airport.

A passenger from Russian Mission was on the same plane with me, and most of the way the flight had been pretty good except for a few bumps here and there. But as we neared Okumiak Mountain, east of Marshall, it all of a sudden got very windy. We couldn't land during our first attempt because we were pushed from side to side and up and down by the wind and we had to circle over Marshall and try again. But again we didn't succeed. Finally after circling Marshall three times we were able to land.

But it frightened me because every time we tried to land we were really close to hitting the tundra below Okumiak mountain."
