Big Waves:![]() Big Waves
"A couple of years ago after being out moose hunting for a few days, we were on our way home from the Cuilnguk River when the weather got much worse. While we were on the Cuilnguk the water was pretty calm, but when we reached the Yukon there were some really big waves out there. Considering the load we had in the boat, I thought we'd better take it easy and not do anything dangerous. I thought to myself that if it had been good weather I'd be sleeping in a nice, warm, dry bed that night. About a mile upstream, the rest of the guys told me the waves were too big, so we had to go ashore and camp another night. We called home and told our families we were camping. The next day, though, the weather was good enough to travel and we headed for home. That night I slept like a log."
