A Rough Ride Across Muddy Lakes

"When Gerilyn was about three months old, we took her and her mom out spring camping by boat. The day we left it was very nice with a little breeze blowing.

We took off following Vernon and Irene Evan for our camping spot behind Pilcher Mtn. As we were going along the wind started to pick up a little and it was getting a little bit rough on the river. Camille slowed down so we wouldn't be bouncing all over the place.

By the time we reached Muddy Lakes it was very rough. But Vernon was already on the other side of the lake, and we thought if he could make it across safely then we could too. So we took our chances in the waves. I was very scared because I thought the boat would tip over. But after a lot of bouncing and splashing we finally made it across and continued on our way."
