the Elders

Vernon Evan:

1. If you get your children up early in the morning, they will have a good name later in life.

2. Teach your children not to follow someone going in the wrong direction

Angeline Coffee:

1. Encourage your children to go to school every day.

2. Encourage your children all the time.

Terry Manumik:

1. Have plenty of patience with your children.

2. Listen to your kids when they tell you something they think important.

3. Have house rules for your kids.

4. Spend time with them.

5. Provide your children with a safe environment.

Nick Andrew:

1. Be a good role model for your kids.

2. Do not drink while raising your kids.

3. Stay together on decisions about your kids. Don't argue about them.

4. Honor your marriage vows.

5. Teach your kids to pray, no matter what religion you belong to.

Nastasia Andrew:

1. Help one another with the housework. Don't let your spouse do all the work.

2. Raise your kids in a Native way. Keep your traditions alive.

3. Never argue in front of your kids

4. Never cuss at your kids or around them.

5. Honor your elders and others no matter what age they are.

Richard Olsen:

1. Spend time with your children because time goes by too quickly.

2. Don't have children right away. Wait for 4 to 6 years after your married.

3. Take lots of pictures of your kids.

4. Teach your children values.

5. Don't be afraid to say what you think to your children.

Alvin Owletuck:

1. Discipline your children.

2. Talk with your children often.

3. Make sure they're on time for things.

4. Don't take your small children to public gatherings.

5. Keep them clean, feed them well, and teach them about life.

6. Go to Sunday school and church with them.

1. Make sure your kids go to school on time.

2. Discipline is important.

3. Take good care of your children.

4. Teach them to listen to you and respect you.

5. Communicate with them a lot.

6. Go to church with them.

1. Take good care of young children and raise them good.

2. Talk to them even if they don't listen to you.

3. Men should teach boys to do men's work.

4. Women should teach girls to do women's work.
