Advice From Parents

To Young Parents

Greg's Parents:

1. Don't use baby talk with your children.
2. Be more aware of your children's emotional, spiritual, physical and mental needs.

Rose's Parents:

1. Be strict. Tell them when they're doing something wrong. And do it when they are young.
2. Teach them to respect themselves, and to respect others, especially elders.

Jonathan's Parents:

1. Make sure you're ready to have kids before you have them.
2. Take care of your children really well.

Tanya's Parents:

1. Have patience with your children.
2. After disciplining, explain what your child did wrong.
3. Get up when your child gets up in the morning.
4. Never let your child go hungry or your child will be cranky.

Lorah's Parents:

1. Have a positive attitude when your child wakes up in the morning.
2. Keep your sense of humor no matter what. It helps to make a bad situation livable.

Cheryl's Parents:

1. Make sure they know what yes and no means.
2. Teach them good manners.

Tassie's Parents:

1. Have a lot of patience.
2. Share your feelings.
3. Be more open about each other's problems.
4. Don't use drugs and alcohol.

Matthew's Parents:

1. Spend most of your time with your children.
2. Take time to play with your children even if you're busy.
3. Listen with both your heart and ears when your children want to express themselves.
4. Teach your children religious beliefs, values, and about God.

Charlotte's Parents:

1. Raising kids takes a lot of commitment. You just can't run off when you want to.
2. Think about what's going to happen before you have kids.
3. Think about how your life is going to change and whether or not you think you can handle the change.

Tatiana's Parents:

1. Teach your children compassion when they're young.
2. Don't use drugs and alcohol when your children are young.

Robert's Parents:

1. Try to have a happy life.
2. Have a happy attitude.
