Prom Night

One day after school was out, some friends and I decided to go to the Senior prom. There was a live band that came from Fairbanks and everyone was dressed formal and enjoying the fun while it lasted.

But there was a colored boy there named Justin whom the boys didn't like. They picked on him and made fun of him all night. The interesting part was that he was dressed so nicely and proper that many of the girls liked him and kept hanging around him. When they saw that, some of the boys got jealous and went over to him and started calling him names so the girls would leave him alone. I tried not to get involved with it but the boys pressured me to help them out. But then that didn't help at all because the girls were saying things to us that we didn't expect to hear. And yet, I didn't want the boys to think I cared for a colored boy. Then when Joe's ex-giifriend danced with the boy it made him so jealous he went over and took the girl away from him. But the colored boy just left them alone and let them do whatever they wanted to do.

After awhile both David and Joe went over to Justin's table, sat down by the girls and started picking on Justin when people wouldn't notice it. Finally Justin decided to take the offensive and started making fun of the boys in front of the girls. When David threatened him, he said he'd take care of it after the prom.

When the prom ended at 1:00 o'clock and everyone was getting ready to leave, the boys waited for Justin by the door. When he finally came out of the bathroom and headed out, the boys followed him until there was noone around. Then they started pushing him around until one of the girls hollered for help and the boys took off. The police got involved with it and the boys got into trouble. After that David and Joe never picked on Justin again. I think that everyone should be treated the way you yourself want to be treated!
