Ravens at the Dump

As I was riding past the dump in Emmonak I looked to my left and I saw a lot of black ravens taking off as a man threw his trash. They looked cool as they took off into the air. It was like they made a big black hole in the sky. As some of the ravens flew they fought against the wind trying to get where they wanted to go. It seemed it was hard work flying that way.

While watching the ravens eating trash from the dump I thought it was gross! Just think of all those germs and bugs in there! Whenever I pass the Emmonak city dump I always see those ravens picking trash from the ground or tearing open trash bags and I think what a terribly messy life they have.

As I was walking home from school one day I looked at the green dumpster alongside the road and saw a raven hopping on the road. He stared at me for a pretty long time until a dog came along and chased the poor raven away.

After I came up here to Marshall, every time I walk past the dump I see a lot of ravens on the trees and on the ground eating trash. And I think how similar ravens are everywhere.
