Francis Evan

Head Start (preschool) Teacher's Aid

Francis Evan is a Head Start (preschool) Teacher's Aid. Her employer is the Rural Alaska Community Action Program Inc. The kind of training necessary for her job was field training where the field trainers come to their center and train them. Fran has a high school deploma, some college, and a health care education.

She works six hours a day, five days a week, and plans to work there as long as she doesn't get bored. Fran works with Barbara Fitka most of the time. Barb is also her boss.

Some examples of her job responsibilities are assisting Barb in the classroom, cleaning and sanitizing toys, home visiting, doing paper work, and planning lessons. The best thing about her job is the children. Home visiting is not so much fun for her.

Fran's advice for the young people who might want her job in the future is to stay in school, be a responsible & dependable worker, and be on time for work. And do not use drugs or alcohol. Also, you must love children and be patient with them, and always follow the center policies.
