I remember when I was nine years old, and
it was the
night before Halloween. It was a weird night because all I
did was wake up and fall back to sleep again and again and
again.
It all began when I was lieing on my bed
at 11:30 P.M., suffocating my teddy bear, and biting on the
ends of my pigtails. As I slowly dozed off, I suddenly woke
up in my dream. WOW!!! Everywhere I looked I saw candy, gum
and pop. I thought I was in candy world!!! I ran and dived,
tumbled and played in nothing but junk food. As I greedily
ate everything I could, my eyes came into a blur. As I
chewed my gum, I noticed it wasn't gum... I'm chewing bits
of guts and slime I thought. I'm not drooling saliva... I'm
drooling slime and blood down my mouth. I'm screaming my
little pigtails off, and all of a sudden, I'm awake,
shaking. I'm in shock! I could feel my chin and neck feeling
sticky and wet. I got up to go to the bathroom to look at
myself. With a sigh of relief, it was only my saliva smeared
all over my cheeks and mouth.
I went back to my bed, and snuggled near
my teddybear. But all of a sudden, I start rolling all over
my bed. I fall onto the floor, and I'm still rolling,
rolling all over the floor. I'm going up the wall. What's
dragging me, I ask myself over and over? Then I'm on the
ceiling, rolling with my teddybear. From the ceiling, a hand
with long nails pulled on my pigtails. I'm hanging from the
ceiling, and I slowly fall down to my bed, as the paws of a
cat scratch my face and pull my hair. But suddenly I wake up
with my kitty by my side. I look at the clock and it's 3:29
A.M. I lay there petting my cat, until I slowly dozed off
into a deep sleep.
When I wake up again I'm surrounded by
trees. I look at my feet and I have no shoes on, just my
nightgown. It's foggy out and there's scattered leaves all
over the ground. I begin to walk, but the cold ground next
to my feet forces me to run. I was running so fast that I
tripped on a willow branch sticking out. Then I asked myself
,"What am I running from?" I slowly turned my head, with my
heart beating very fast and I squinted and saw something
that made my face go pale. There, behind a log, stood a
figure that looked like someone wearing pants but with no
upper part of the body. The figure had no face or arms, just
feet and legs. I got so scared, I couldn't move. I couldn't
say anything. The figure came closer and closer until it was
only 10 feet from me. I felt sick to my stomach and I
couldn't breath. Finally the figure came so close it started
stepping on me. I screamed and screamed and screamed and
when I woke up, dam, it was just my stupid kitty
again!
