One Amazing Day

While I was walking with a friend in the trees
I heard in the distance a quiet sneeze.
I turned to look and tried to see
And I saw something that amazed me.

There in the distance I could see
A moose looking right at me.
I told my friend to turn around
Slowly and quietly not making a sound.

The moose was big and large and brown.
I was so amazed I had to sit down.
I sat there and stared
at him
But he never moved or flared
at me.

His antlers were large and had lots of points,
and he looked old and big at the joints.
He was amazing to see,
and he didn't even attack me.

I sat there enjoying every minute and second,
and just waited quietly and beckoned
Till he went away without any harm.
It was as cool as a nice big charm.

I was so happy to be out that day
Because the moose never harmed me in any way.
I'll treasure that time and remember that day
When I gathered the bark rather than play.

Sometime I hope to see a moose again
The way I did in the trees with my friend.
