My Dad's Surprise Moose

"A long time ago, about twenty years ago when I was a young teenager. my father, John, caught a bull moose right below our old log cabin uptown. It all happened this way: In the quiet of our old log cabin, at about 9 or 10 in the evening, my dad's dogs started barking real hard and loud. My dad told my sister Palassa to check and see what they were barking at. So she went outside to take a look. She came running back immediately, saying that there was something big in the water. My dad quickly put his shoes on and grabbed his rifle and shells. After we heard him shoot a couple of times. We all went out to check what he shot at. It turned out to be a big bull moose. It was during moose season that time, and I think that my dad was really lucky to have caught that moose so close by. I was so excited to see a moose like that."
