Frank's Biggest Fish

"The biggest fish I ever caught was in 1972 or 1973 during a commercial fishing opening. Back then the seasons were longer and there were more openings. My two sons Paul and Patrick were a lot younger then, but they were fishing with me during a King salmon opening downriver by Old Pilot Station. During one drift we caught a really big King salmon. Paul and I struggled hard to get the fish in the boat with the fish gaff, and when we finally got the fish on board we brought it to the fish collector to be weighed. It weighed somewhere between 80 and 90 pounds! That same year we caught another big fish but we couldn't get it into the boat and it got away with the gaff."
