Annie's Clearwater Pike

"The biggest fish I ever caught was in the spring of 1993. I went on an ice fishing trip with my husband Larry Hunter downriver at Pilot Station Clearwater, also known as Chuilnguq. It was my first time going there. I had bought some big icefishing hooks from the store at Mountain Village and it was the first opportunity I had to use them. While Larry and I were fishing I caught a really big pike. It measured 32 inches long and weighed more than 20 pounds. It had a huge head with really big jaws and sharp teeth. That was the biggest fish I ever caught in my whole life. Ever since I caught that big fish we've gone back there every year. And every time we go back we catch big fish. But none of them have been as big as that one."
