New Card Games

I really didn't have a Christmas vacation. All that was different was the kids were home all the time, just like during summer. The most bugging thing was their staying up all night and waking up just as it was getting dark. There were always friends over visiting. Some days I would tell them NOBODY is coming in, or NOBODY is sleeping here. They would be too loud when we were trying to sleep.

Nothing special happened. The only thing I can remember is playing Skip-Bo. I got better at it. It's more fun than most other card games. I learned to play a different kind of Solitaire, too.

The best things were not having to remind the kids to do their homework and trying to get them to bed at a reasonable time. Boy kept wanting me to read from Disney's Storybook Collection that I got for him and Curtis. Sometimes my mouth got tired of reading so long.

The New Year's square dance wasn't too bad. The temperature was just right in the gym, so we didn't sweat a lot. The fireworks were a little long, though. We got cold and had to either go back to the gym or to someone's house on the river to keep watching the fireworks. Dora took Curtis back to the gym, so I stayed longer with Ruth behind my mom's house or by the clinic. We then went over to Ruth's house before they were done with the fireworks and had pecan pie. Then we went back to the dance at the gym. The only thing that I won during the raffles was akutuk.

I didn't go out much during Slavic. I just helped Dora and my mom feed everyone when they were at their house.
