In The Maqii House

"During Christmas vacation I worked in the school, as usual. I waxed the hallways and the gym. I also steam-cleaned the classrooms.

On Christmas Eve I went to the Christmas program with my family. On Christmas day I stayed home all day and watched football. My family ate Christmas dinner and all that.

On New Year's I went to the fiddling dance here in Marshall. I watched the fireworks from outside the school.

During Slavik I followed the Russian Orthodox Star into a few houses and celebrated with all those who were there.

Oh yeah, and I slept a lot, and maqiied with Herman George, Moses Shorty, John Moxie and everybody else who maqii's every night."

Katemal Shorty
