Eight Seconds of Fun

During Christmas vacation I played a few pranks on people, some of which I'm glad of because it was a lot of fun, and some of which I regret doing because they hurt the people.

Other than that, I did some babysitting for Clifford and Annie and a couple of other people. Some days when I went to Cliffords I played Monopoly with Mikey. Sometimes Mikey and I just talked, which was a lot of fun for me because there was nothing to do around town.

During the middle part of the vacation it was starting to be a lot more fun because Slavic was about to begin and there is always something to do during Slavic. When Slavic started we followed the star and stayed up as late as we could. When the star was at a house where they were going to feed for a long time we would get a little shut eye until the star was ready to move to the next house.

Slavic was okay this year, but next year I want to experience Slavic in Russian Mission because I haven't gone to any other village for Slavic yet, and I think it would be interesting.

After Slavic was done I continued to read the books which were assigned to me during the vacation. They were very interesting to read.

The day before school started, it was snowing very hard, and it was nice and warm outside. I was at my gram's when Rose, Gerilyn, and most of Lena's kids were taking a ride on a huge sled tied to the back of Lena's snow machine. When I first saw the sled I thought it looked ridiculous, but when I saw Rose she brought a smile to my face. She had on Gerilyn's goggles and a cool face expression. I said, "Oh, what the heck, I might as well join them. You can never have too much fun here in little old Marshall." So, we took off and rode around on the tundra. Suddenly Gerilyn started driving really fast. Rose was getting scared and tried to climb into the basket of the sled, but her foot got caught on the side of the rail and she ended up riding on the back handle of the sled like Luke Perry riding a bull in the movie Eight Seconds. Boy, she was rocking! I was still laughing at her after she finally got Gerilyn to stop the snow machine. That was the highlight of my vacation.
