If I Were Holly Riddle

My name is Holly Riddle and about nine years ago my parents divorced. I now live with my mother and I visit my father every other weekend. Life was a little complicated at first because I had to choose which parent I wanted to live with. The decision was hard because I wanted to be equal with both parents but couldn't.

A week before school got out for Christmas, I visited my dad for the weekend and we had a wonderful time together. During the visit with my father we did a number of things. The first night, he brought me out to dinner to my favorite Chinese restaurant. There we talked for hours, catching up on what's going on in our lives. After dinner, we headed to his place and watched the late night movie. The next day, he brought me out

shopping for new back-to-school clothes. After shopping for a couple hours at different malls we went to McDonald's for lunch. After ordering our food, we talked about what we should do next. We decided that we'd take a walk in the nearby park for an hour until our food was digested. After walking in the park, we went skating inside one of the malls. Skating was a lot of fun because I had to help my father since he was a beginner. We skated for a couple hours, then decided to go grocery shopping while we were in the store. About half an hour later we reached his place and I told him I would cook him my speciality dinner, meat loaf. The dinner was wonderful and he told me I was a wonderful chef. We still had plenty of time to do something so we decided to see a movie. The movie was a dumb comedy that didn't make a lot of sense, so I told my dad and we decided to get ice cream and

we got to his place we ate our ice cream and watched an old movie that I really enjoyed. The weekend I spent with my dad was so wonderful, I felt it ended too soon. The day I was going back to my mom's I told my dad I had a fun time and that I'd be expecting to see him at Christmas dinner at my mom's place.

When I went back to my mom's, I told her I had a wonderful time and my dad was coming for Christmas dinner. And, sure enough, Christmas dinner was just great! My parents didn't argue or get mad at one another. They got along just fine, and that was a relief to me. So, my Christmas vacation was very fun and full of excitement!
