Christmas at Kalskag

Mary K. Evan went to Lower Kalskag before Christmas. While she was there she said she hardly did anything because of her bad back.

On December 23, Upper Kalskag had their Christmas program, and on December 24, Lower Kalskag had theirs.

Also, on the 24th of December, a lot of people cooked food and brought it to the town hall for the potlatch. She attended that event and enjoyed seeing her friends and family.

During Slavic she and her daughters cooked a lot of food so they could feed those who visited their house while following the star. She said that during Slavic a lot of people came from Tuluksak, Aniak and both Kalskags.

While she was there she also noticed that the people who were building the high school were almost done. Soon the students would have a new school to replace the one that burned down last year.
