Thomas Soolook Sr.
Delivery Man

Thomas Joseph Soolook Sr. was born in Teller, Alaska, in 1961. He grew up in Little Diomede and went to high school at Mt. Edgecumbe High School in Sitka where he graduated in 1979.

Tom Soolook has worked in the Co-op Store since 1983 when Tom Oney was the store manager. He likes his job because of the steady income. The reason he took the job was because he needed to support his family. The only training he needed for the job was learning how to drive a truck so he could get a driver's license.

He says that his job keeps him stimulated because he has to continuously make grocery deliveries. The best thing he likes about his job is that he only has to work on weekends. The worst thing is that he has to get up early on weekends.
