Theresa Boots
Foster Grandparent

Theresa Boots is the new Foster Grandparent for the Marshall Head Start. She was born at the bottom of Willow Creek Mountain in 1935. She grew up in Takchak, an old Eskimo town about one and a half miles below Marshall. She then moved here and attended school through the second grade. She has worked as a Foster Grandparent for the Marshall Head Start for about three and a half weeks and plans to work as long as she can. She likes her job very much because she likes to teach the young kids what she was taught when she was that age. She was interested in getting this job because it had to do with younger children. She feels that her job keeps her stimulated because the children are so full of energy and anxious to discover new things. The best thing she likes about her job is trying to understand what the children are doing. She has a family of 6 children and 19 grandchildren and feels very strongly that her family does not affect her job performance.
