Jason Isaac
Village Police Officer

Jason Isaac is a V.P.O. here in Marshall. He was born in Bethel in 1977 and grew up in Marshall. He went to school at the Marshall High School. He also went to school at Bethel for one year. Unfortunately he did not graduate.

He has been working here since last spring, and he plans to keep on working until he gets his G.E.D. That will be in about a year.

He says that his job is fun. There are a lot of new things to learn. He started this job because he needed the money.

Before he got the job he did not receive any training, and he hasn't received any training yet. He will be getting some pretty soon, though.

He says that the best thing about his job is learning new things all the time, and that the worst is putting up with people with bad attitudes. He also says that his family is encouraging.

Walter Pitka
Village Police Officer

Walter Pitka was born at Bethel in 1967. He grew up in Chuathbaluk and he went to school at Chuathbaluk and Bethel. He graduated from high school in 1988.

He has been working as our V.P.O. for one year and two months. He says that his job is very interesting because he learns a lot of things from the police department (P.D.).

Before getting the job, he said that he filled out an application "for the hell of it." He didn't even think that he'd get the job. Then he had to go to St. Mary's for a week to learn some things about the department and to receive training.

Since getting the job, all he needs is to do his job well.

He says that his job keeps him stimulated because he is always busy doing something.

He reports that the best thing about his job is serving the public, and that the worst is to see people getting into trouble.

He has a son, a daughter and a wife, and says that it's good to be busy with the family and office work.
