Bruce Hunter
Airline Agent

Bruce was born in Bethel in 1953. He grew up in Marshall and went to school here and at Mt. Edgecumbe. After he graduated from high school he went to college in Fairbanks for half a year studying electronics. He did not graduate.

Bruce has been working as an airline agent for Yute Air and Hageland's Air for nearly five years. The job was passed down to him by his father, Don Hunter, after he died. He likes his job because it keeps him busy most of the time.

Bruce has never gotten any kind of training for his job as airline agent, but he has received training in taking weather measurements which he does once a day for the U.S. Weather Service. He also learned how to operate a bulldozer from his dad, a skill he uses now to plow the airport for the DOT.

The best thing about his job is that he gets to fly around free. The worst thing is when he has to off-load a plane full of groceries and when there are extra mail planes.
