Alo Coffee
Diesel Technician

Alo Coffee was born in 1945 at Takcak. When he was young he lived at spring camp, fish camp, and at Marshall. Alo went to school in Marshall but he never graduated. He only attended community college over at Anchorage for three weeks. Alo was first interested in his job because jobs were hard to find and it was the only job that was available for him at that time. He likes his job because it is part-time.

Alo received electrical and diesel training before he got his job. Then after he got his job he had to go to training for the new generators because they are run by digital codes. If something is wrong with the generator it shows a code and he has to look in a book to find out what is wrong with it.

The best thing about his job, he says, is all the freedom he has because his job is only part-time. The worst thing is changing the engine oil and cleaning up the oily mess he makes after working on the generator.
