SWANS
I remember last year
when I was
walking along side
the mountain
during early spring
and I heard
the deep trumpets of
a swan.
Which drew me slowly
as if in a dream
to look around and
up and I saw
there all at once
that the swans
had arrived
flock after flock,
and what a beautiful sight it was
when I saw them gliding
slowly
down
to the
tundra
with their wings spread out wide
finally
landing on the tundra
still covered with snow,
with the promise that
spring is here.
