"Like A Hawk"

As I was strolling
along the shore line
I saw a Hawk
soaring
high above me.
I watched it
excitedly,
wondering
what it
was going
to do next.
Then
suddenly
I heard the sound of
a gun shot,
and
the Hawk
fell from the
sky
like a lightning bolt
striking the ground.
As I watched it dying
helplessly,
uselessly,
a tear
fell
silently
from my eye
and I wondered
why?
