Edna

Once upon a time, there was a duck named Edna; she lived in a pond with the other ducks.

One day she went out flying to explore other places she had never been, like the pond where she thought no other ducks lived.

When she got there, she thought it was the most beautiful place. While swimming and playing she bumped into a nest where she saw another duck sleeping. The duck looked like the others she knew. So she said, "Oh my, what are you doing here? Do you live here?" The other duck said, "My name is Charlie, now what are you doing here?" "Nothing," replied Edna. After they had met, they got to know each other by talking. Charlie told Edna about the bad old fox who lived near by and told her to be careful.

Soon it was time for her to leave. They swam along together half way. But Edna had forgotten about the bad old fox. Suddenly the fox jumped from behind her and grabbed her. She panicked, and shouted "Help! Help! Charlie, the fox has got me! Help!" Out like a flash Charlie came rushing to see what was going on. He saw Edna trying to get loose but couldn't get her tail out of the foxes mouth. So Charlie dived down as fast as he could and when he was a foot above the fox, he landed on his head so that he would have to let Edna go. With all his might, whe began to flap his wings. The fox could not hold on any longer, and he dropped Edna. He then tried to catch Charlie but didn't make it. Both of the ducks flew up.

Charlie said, "Boy! That was real close, from now on be more careful." Then Edna said "My hero.." Charlie looked at her with a blush. Then they both lived happily ever after.
