Andy Finch's Christmas Vacation

Andy Finch's Christmas Vacation

My name is Andy Finch, and I live with my dad in Louisiana. During the Christmas break I traveled to North Carolina to visit with my mother and my grandparents. I also did a little shopping for my Dad and stepmom while I was there. On Christmas Eve I went over to spend Christmas with her and my sister. My sister and I talked of old times and what she's been doing. I also talked with my mom and her new husband, Mike, who seems like a real nice guy. That day I visited with my old friends and had long talks with them. That night Mike took us to a college basketball game. It was an exciting event for me because I hadn't been to a college game before. Michigan and North Carolina were playing, and it was very exciting to watch. North Carolina ended up winning.

Mike told us that he too has been divorced, and he has three kids: John, who is at the University of North Carolina, Kathy, who is a year younger than I am, and Don, who is eight years old. Mike and my mom seem to be getting along perfectly well. Kathy and my sister also get along alright, so she has someone to hang out with besides her other friends.

On Christmas day I gave out my presents, and I received a lot of presents from my mom, sister and Mike. That evening we had a family get- together. Mike's family and my grandparents came over and we had a big Christmas dinner. From the 26th to the 30th Mike took my sister, Kathy, Don and me out shopping and sightseeing. During those days I hung out with my old friends at the malls.

On New Year's Eve I went back to Louisiana to spend New Year's with my dad and my stepmom. The trip to my mom's was exciting.
