"THE LOST
DOVE"
One hot sunny day there were many
doves flying in the forest. There was one dove who was the leader.
And there was another who was hated by the rest. This dove was left
alone. He never ate, because all the other doves took his food. No
one gave him any food. And he was starving.
So one day the leader told the
other doves to look for the poor dove. But no luck. They never found
him. Because he had gone away.
A few months later when the doves
were flying around one of the doves went off by himself and flew deep
into the forest. When he looked down from a tall tree, he saw a
little white spot lying on the ground. The dove knew what it was and
he flew down as fast as he could. When he reached it he found the
dove that had flown away from the flock. But he wasn't moving. He was
just lying there. No other dove had ever cared about him and so he
died from hunger. The one dove then carried him over to the leader
and most of the other doves were shocked. They were sad and they
wanted to bury him. They did this.
And so they all learned about what
happens when they don't care enough for their own fellows.
