Christmas
Break
The Holiday season for most people
means giving, sharing, and being happy, but for me the highlight is
the school's Christmas break. During this time when I'm in town I
enjoy staying Out late, relaxing, the basic freedom of not being in
school.
This year I also did some traveling.
I went to St. Mary's, Pilot Station, and Russian Mission. The first
place that I went was St. Mary's. Garrett brought me down to pick up
my snowmachine. The machine was sort of a Christmas present that I
bought. The trip was not very enjoyable because it was raining and
the trail was slushy.
The next day a men's basketball
tournament was scheduled in Pilot Station and, since the temperature
had dropped, I decided to go down. The trip was enjoyable, but the
games were even better. I ended up going to Pilot Station three days
in a row to see the whole tournament. The only really exciting games
though were the two played by Marshall Lost Boyz and St. Mary's Young
Guns. The first game was close right up to the end, but the Lost Boyz
won. The second game was the championship and
it was even closer. It came down to
the final seconds when the Boyz were up by one point with the ball
and nine seconds on the clock. The Guns put pressure on them but they
broke it and hit a three pointer with five seconds left to play
sealing their victory by four points.
When the tournament was all over I
came home and went to bed. Two days latter I went to Russian Mission
with my mom for Slavik. I followed the star, ate, visited old
friends, and mingled with family. When we finally came home, all I
really did was hang out at the dances until school started. All in
all, my X-mass vacation was too short. But it was good while it
lasted!
