My Painful
Vacation
This past vacation Jackie, Danny
Meyers and I went downriver to pick up my snow-machine. But when we
got there the store was closed and we couldn't buy gas. Danny went to
his dad's place and Jackie and I ate at my grandmom's house. After we
were done eating we decided to go back to Marshall on Jackie's snow
machine. We looked around for Danny and found him in his brother's
house. We told him that we were going back to Marshall. He said, okay
be careful, then we went.
We went back by Halfway Cabin and we
were going very fast. Then I
had this feeling something was
going to happen to me or Jackie when we saw a light flying downriver.
Jackie stopped his snow machine. It was an airplane flying downriver.
After we finished watching it we went on. There was a lot of rough
ice and we were going too fast, and all of a sudden I knew we were
going to crash. My heart started to race like a rocket when we saw
the jagged ice in front of us. Jackie tried to turn but we were going
too fast. We hit a piece of ice that was sticking up and we flew up
into the air and crashed into another piece of ice and flew off the
snow machine. I landed on top of Jackie about five feet away from the
snow machine, and Jackie hit his head on some ice when he stopped. I
rolled a ways before I stopped. Then I stopped breathing for a while
and had to force my breath out. Then my leg started to hurt and I was
in pain for a long time. Jackie went over to his snow machine and
when he looked at it, he said, Holy cow ! Then I looked at it and saw
that his snow machine was broken in half. We tried to start it but it
wouldn't go, so we went on walking back to Marshall. It took us two
hours but we finally made it.
