A Good Fight
One hot summer day after I got off work I was
wondering what in the world I was going to do. I sat at home for
about half an hour waiting for some excitement to happen. Then the
phone rang. It was one of my friends, and he asked me if I wanted to
go out for a boat ride. I said I would and started to get ready. I
grabbed by brother's rod and reel just in case we stopped somewhere
to do a little fishing.
We went to Willow and rode around for a while and
then stopped at a place that was supposed to be a good fishing spot.
We stayed there for about fifteen or twenty minutes, but decided to
go because nobody was catching any fish. We stopped at another place
and stayed there for a while longer, but since ony one person was
catching fish, we decided to move again.
This third spot we moved to was different, though.
Everyone was catching fish there. I was the only one who didn't catch
anything for a while. But right after I told myself I was going to
quit fishing if I didn't catch anything, I got a bite. The fish felt
pretty strong and put up a good fight. After about five minutes of
trying to tire the fish out, I decided to bring it in. It felt like
the fish could have fought for days.
When I reeled the fish in I saw that it wasn't
real big and it wasn't real small. But it was almost two feet long,
and that was the biggest fish I ever caught in my life.
