The biggest fish I ever caught was back at
Chulinguk with a rod and reel. I went with Patrick and Alo to fish
for King salmon. At first we were mostly catching pike in the places
where we stopped to fish. We had a lot of fun catching the big pike
because they were really tough to reel in to the beach. In one place
where we fished we were hooking pike about every cast.
Then after a while I caught the biggest fish I
ever caught in my life. It was very long and very fat for a pike. It
took me a long time to pull it in because it was very strong. My arms
even got weak from all the pulling the fish was doing. Finally I had
to let Pat help me bring in the fish because it was so hard to pull
it in by myself. When he dragged it up on the beach I was amazed at
how huge the fish was that I caught. Alo and Pat were catching big
pike too. Some of their pike were even bigger than mine. We were all
catching big pike all day long and releasing most of them so we could
catch them again the next time we went there. We sure had a lot of
fun fishing back there, and I'll never forget the biggest fish I ever
caught in my life. It was a real fighter!
