Marshall 2097
After I finished breakfast I got ready to go rod
and reeling inside Wilson Creek. I jumped into my jet boat and picked
up Aaron and we took off. The water was really high in front of town
because the ice caps were melting due to global warming, and we were
having really bad floods every spring after the ice broke up. When we
got to our fishing spot we started to fish. But, although we fished
for a long time, we caught nothing. Aaron said it was maybe because
they had another oil spill inside Wilson. I checked how much gas we
had, and it looked like we had enough to go to Willow Creek. So we
fished at the mouth of Willow and caught a couple of fish there. We
also tried farther inside Willow, but there was nothing there either
because Willow was too polluted and the fish had deserted the area.
We got bored, so we went back home.
It was still early when we got home, so I asked
Aaron if he wanted to go moose hunting with me. He said yes, so I
went to the store and asked my dad if he could buy me a couple of
gallons of gas. Then we took off to Owl Slough. There were already
lots of people there when we arrived, but there weren't many moose
left because we had overhunted them in the past. We finally found a
place where there was nobody, but because there was no fresh moose
sign there we went back home.
We were really bored at home, so we went up to the
dump and targeted the ravens. There were lots of them at the dump
because it was really full of trash, and there was no other place to
put the trash because we had filled up all the tundra.
We were going to go drifting for my mom the next
day because the weather was supposed to be good. But when we got up
my mom said the weather was smoggy from all of the cars and trucks in
Marshall. It was really hot too, probably from global warming. We got
ready to go, though, and took off for Goose Island. We thought we
were going to catch a lot of fish that day because there used to be a
big run of fish going up the river at this time of the year. But we
caught only a couple of fish because the new dam blocked the way of
the fish.
When we got home we wanted to take a ride with my
four wheeler, but we couldn't because I was out of gas, and we
couldn't buy anymore because we had a limit on how much gas we could
buy since the world was running out of oil. And when I went home to
have a drink of water my mom told me not to use too much water
because we were almost out of water. People had contaminated the
drinking water again and we were on strict rations! I sure hope we
don't leave a world like that for future generations!
