My eyes are barely open as I
hear the trees blowing. I start to stretch as the sun
slowly peeks into my little den. Here goes another day of
finding food, chasing away my enemies, and at night going
into town to listen to lots of dogs barking. As I slowly
start to crawl out of my den, the cold weather hits me
like a slap across my face. I have an urge to crawl back
into my den, but the growling of my stomach keeps my legs
moving and my eyes wide open for one of those fat,
delicious, juicy rabbits.
As I was walking on one of my lucky
trails where I often found my breakfast, I spotted
something moving very slowly. Wow!! It was a rabbit. I
sneaked as close to him as I could, and then I ran
straight to him, biting his heart out. The next few
minutes I ate the rabbit, enjoying every bite I took.
After it was pretty much gone, I went walking on one of
my other trails.
This time, I was looking for one of my
friends to play with. Instead, I ran across a snow
machine trail. My heart started beating so fast, it
almost came out. I had to be careful because any minute a
bullet could take my life away. Memones started flashing
back to when I was a child. Oh, how I missed having my
mother around to protect me from all those mean people. I
remembered when we were playing tag one time. We had so
much fun together.
But now I am on my own, almost ready
to start my own little family, if I ever live after this.
Then suddenly I heard this loud noise. As I slowly turned
around I saw the bright light of a snow machine coming
straight towards me. I started to run as fast as I could.
But the next thing I knew I'm lying on the ground, with
my stomach hurting so bad that I couldn't move. I guess
I'll have to die the same way my mother did.
