This one cold afternoon as my friends and I
were walking to the store during lunch break, we spotted a Raven
having a little fun with a pup outside Boliver's house. When we got
to the porch of the Co-op store I watched the Raven play with the pup
for awhile.
The pup was playing with something long that
looked like a piece of skin. The Raven then went over and started
tugging on the end of it. It looked like a sort of tug-of-war match.
The Raven tugged it away from the pup. Then suddenly the pup ran
towards the Raven and snatched the skin away from him. Then they both
went at it again, both pulling away at the skin. When the pup pulled
it away he looked as if he wanted the Raven to pull at it again. He
dropped the piece of skin and then attacked the Raven. The Raven flew
a few feet and landed again. The pup tried chasing it but as soon as
the pup got near the Raven he turned right around and chased the pup
back a few feet. When the pup noticed the Raven's back was turned
again the pup ran up and almost bit a tail feather off. The Raven
flew up a few feet in the air and landed about 10 or 12 feet in front
of the pup. When the pup attacked again, the Raven counterattacked.
After he chased the pup away Raven just stood and waited for the next
round. When the pup took off again toward the Raven, he flew off
never to return. He seemed bored with the pup and probably went off
in search of something else to bother.
