Joel Isaac's
Summer
After school was out, Joel went spring camping
with Willie D. Jr., Michael P., Jacob I.
and Mike D. While he was at spring camp, he
did some beaver hunting, duck hunting, and muskrat hunting. He
went spring camping a second time with Barbara A.
and Willie D. Jr.
He got ready to go commercial fishing in June
and fished until July. When he was finished with commercial fishing,
he got ready for subsistence fishing. After the fishing season was
closed, he went up to his dad's fishcamp for two weeks. When they ran
low on supplies he went back to Marshall and got some more for his
Appa's camp. Then he rode back to fishcamp by boat with his dad and
Appa and helped them build a fish rack. While he was at fishcamp, he
also helped his Appa build a big tent frame there. After that he went
to get logs for a landing dock at his dad's fishcamp. He also went
out bear hunting at Reindeer River and at Nuksuk.
Some other things he did were play ball on the
court with his friends, go to church on Sundays, go for boat rides
with his friends, rod and reel at Wilson Creek, and swim over at the
sandbar on hot days with his friends. His summer was okay for
him, he said.
