Matthew's Fun Summer

Matt did many things this summer. Right after school ended he went up to Russian Mission for a couple of days. He went on a lot of boat rides and also got to go out hunting with his uncles Robert and Alvin Jr. and some other friends. He and some friends went out swimming a few times at Kemp and over at the sandbar. And that summer his uncle Robert taught him and a few others to water ski.

Matt's uncle Robert took him, Chris, Joe-Joe, and John out bear hunting over at Owl Slough. When they were out there they saw a few animals, like bears, moose and one lynx. His uncle Al also took him over to Owl Slough. And he did a little fishing with some some friends back in Kayakutuk and up at Willow for pike, pink salmon and other fish found in those areas. Matt also helped out his dad during commerical fishing when it was open.

The day Matt learned how to water ski was a big day for him because he, Chris and Joe-Joe all learned how to water ski at the same time. Matt and Joe-Joe wiped out pretty bad a few times while Chris entertained everyone even though he just learned. Once Matt almost did the splits and his skiis suddenly came flying off! Everyone almost broke up at that! He and the same guys also went swimming over at the sand bar a few times but since it was cloudy or rained most of the summer they didn't get to swim much. Some days when it was boring he would play basketball with his friends too.
