Bethel to
Pilot
My summer went by okay. After school
got out I went over to Bethel and stayed there. While I was over
there I babysat sometimes, but most of the time I would go out and
visit my cousins and friends. Sometimes I would go out riding with my
friends all over Bethel in their car. A couple days later my friends
called me and asked if I wanted to take a ride over to Oscarville or
Napaskiak and stay with them there for a couple of days. When we went
back to Bethel, we took our time because Napaskiak is close to
Bethel.
At the end of June I went down river
to Pilot for a week. While I was there I stayed with Barbara and
Charles Heckman Sr. We went out on boat rides to St. Mary's and
Marshall while I was there. On the way back to Marshall with my
friend Buddy we went by way of Owl Slough where we stopped for ten
minutes to sight in his rifle. When we reached Marshall we went over
to my brother's house and stayed around for an hour and a half. Then
we went back down to Pilot Station.
From Pilot I went over to Bethel and
stayed there for a couple more days with Margaret Nagasiak. We rode
around in her Blazer most of the day and in the afternoon I picked my
belongings up at Maggie's house and brought them over to Margaret's
place. Before I left Bethel Margaret and I rode around with her kids
and Richie, a friend from Pilot. Before I went to the airport, I went
to see Maggie. I told her that I was leaving and she asked me when I
was going to be back to visit her. I told her in a couple of months,
then I returned to the same old Marshall.
