Koniag Education Foundation (KEF) promotes the education of Alaska Natives from the Koniag Region. Approximately 3,400 Alaska Natives of the Koniag region and their descendants are eligible to make application to the KEF for a scholarship or grant. The KEF Scholarship and Grant Programs provide educational opportunities that advance the economic and social needs of Alaska Natives. Native students in Alaska and in the 48 contiguous states and Hawaii are made aware of their common bond of Alaska Native heritage through our programs.

The Louis Bunyan Memorial scholarship was started in 1993 to provide assistance to Western Alaskans who wish to pursue careers (primarily in fisheries management, but also in other professions) and might not otherwise be able to further their vocational training or academic education because of financial need.

The EET program provides $1,250 scholarships for students enrolled full time at an accredited college, university or vocational school. Norton Sound residents must complete a scholarship application and must meet the eligibility requirements.

The Rural Alaska Health Career Guide 2002 is a yearly publication offering pertinent information about pursuing a health career in Alaska. Native Student Services (NSS) provides quality support services to Native and rural students. It promotes scholastic achievement, student retention, and personal growth. The NSS Center offers a safe affirming place where students can receive academic advising, scholarship information, assistance, and resource support. It is a place where one can participate in scholastically based activities, cultural programming, and traditional workshops. Space is available for study with classmates and interaction with students who share similar experiences as indigenous peoples. The Center houses the CIRI Success Computer Lab and offers summer internships and college introductory programs.

The Sealaska Heritage Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, offers academic and vocational scholarships targeted to specific fields of study that Sealaska Corporation needs or will need in its business operations. Funding for these scholarships is provided from ANCSA Sec. 7(i) revenue sharing provisions and the ANCSA Regional Corporation 7(i) Revenue Sharing Agreement, which require all ANCSA Regional Corporations to share certain revenues generated from resource development. Sealaska Heritage Institute provides scholarships to Sealaska shareholders and their descendants for college, university, and vocational and technical schools.

Scholarships awarded twice a year, normally in July and January. TAF strives to ensure the continuation of financial assistance until the student graduates, if the recipient meets standards of achievement that demonstrates an application of efforts toward a degree. The aspiration of the TAF Board is to provide each student with education and training that will help them support the regional communities in becoming more autonomous.

The Tribal Training Scholarship program provides financial assistance for Alaska Natives living in the Anchorage area to achieve short-term certification or assist in achieving job enhancement and/or employability. The Tribal Higher Education Scholarship program provides financial assistance for CIRI shareholders and descendants pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Alyeska Pipeline Service Company also provides a matching scholarship for any student entering an eligible field of study which is recognized as necessary in the oil industry. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis for clients who meet the eligibility requirements as stated in the application.
