Students spend about 10 days in Juneau, one week canoeing in the wilderness, and one week at the Chilkoot Culture Camp in Haines. The camp is for all middle school students, but its organizers are particularly interested in attracting Alaska Native youth. The camp is sponsored by the Juneau School District, with funding from the U.S. Department of Education, and in cooperation with LKoot Kwaan-Chilkoot Culture Camp. The camp is a great opportunity for youth in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, but these youth might need encouragement from an adult in order to apply.
