CHRISTMAS IN MARSHALL
AND RUSSIAN MISSON

CHRISTMAS IN MARSHALL AND RUSSIAN MISSION

During my Christmas vacation I did a lot of things. Some were too long and boring while others were too short and a lot of fun. The best part of my vacation was staying up late and sleeping all day. The worst part of my vacation was getting up early to go to work after all the nights I stayed up.

Before the vacation started, my auntie, Lena Sergie, had a baby boy. During the vacation I got to spend some time with her and her other kids. I helped take a load off her shoulders by taking care of one of her kids for the day.

Some other things I did on my vacation were, work at the Co-op Store, visit family and friends, spend some time by myself, and also do some household chores.

On Christmas day I worked in the store because none of the other workers wanted to work--probably because they wanted to spend time with their families.

On December 31, 1995, there was a bunch of us who were doing inventory in the store when we got word that Dolly and Danny Myers' house was burning. The inventory work was delayed while we rushed down to watch the house. They also turned off the lights in town because a power line caught on fire.

On New Year's Eve and New Year's day they had a fund raising square dance in which they raised money for the Myers family. The dance was okay, I guess, because there were people there from different villages.

During Slaviq I went up to Russian Mission to spend some time with relatives there. While there I helped Nastasia Larson feed the followers of the little star. I also helped Abbie Stephanoff feed the followers of the big star. Carol Stephanoff and I then went to a couple of houses with the big star, then back to her house again. I stayed with her there while she babysat her nieces and nephews.

I enjoyed Slaviq in Russian Mission. It was better than here anyway. Altogether I enjoyed my Christmas vacation.
