An Eagle Called
Bob
Once upon a time, about a year and a
half ago Robert and Donna Stevens and their family went out camping
for a day or two.
While they were at camp Jennifer,
Donna's ten year old daughter, and her 12 year old brother Michael,
went out walking alone on the beach near their tent. Jennifer was
ahead of Michael so he had to hurry to catch up. Soon they got to a
wide stream, where they sat on a log and started throwing sticks into
the water. As they were throwing them, a fish jumped up. Michael and
Jennifer got so excited that they nearly fell into the stream. They
ran to tell their parents.
While they were running to tell their
parents, they saw an eagle landing on top of a Christmas tree. When
Jennifer and Michael got back to their camp, they told their parents
that they had seen a fish and eagle.
Later that evening, Robert and
Michael went out looking for an eagle. They had a dart gun to make
the eagle get dizzy and fall. When Robert saw the eagle he aimed and
shot the it. It fell off the tree and lay helpless on the ground.
Then Michael and Robert ran over to it and brought it home where
Robert built a cage for it. Jennifer and Michael named it Bob and
kept it for a few days before releasing it again to nature. They knew
it wouldn't live in captivity.
