The Bear
Once upon a time long ago there was a boy whose name was David. He
really liked going out hunting, and one day he asked his father to
bring him out bear hunting. His father said yes, so they got ready
and packed up all the things they needed. After they took all their
things to the boat they took off to search for a bear. As they were
looking for the bear it started to get dark. So they both decided to
camp until sunrise, and put up their tent. Then they got out their
sleeping bags and got ready for bed. While they slept they dreamed of
catching a very big bear.
The next morning they woke up bright and early to hunt for the
bear. But even though they were out for that whole day they never saw
a bear. So they decided to go back to their camp and to stay out in
the country until they caught a bear.
The third day they were out there they saw a bear but missed it
when they shot at it. David and his father went out looking for the
bear but didn't see it because it got too scared and ran very far
away. It was getting dark so they decided to go back to their camp.
Just as they got to their camp David saw a bear right next to their
tent. He yelled to his father and they started to shoot at it. They
got lucky and they hit the bear. They stayed up very late that night
skinning the bear, and after they were done they put the bear into
their boat and went to bed.
The next morning they got up bright and early again and ate some
breakfast. After they were done eating they packed up all their
things and went home. When they got home David's mother was very
happy to see them. They unpacked their gear from the boat and hung up
the bear skin to dry. Then they cut up the meat and put some in the
freezer and gave some away to their relatives. It was a good
hunt.
