Characters: Herbie--Raven
Mike--Mussel
Narrator: One hot summer day there once was a
Raven who went for a stroll along the shoreline. When he reached a
place near the water's edge he was just about to kick a mussel shell
and the mussel caught his legs and dug down into the sand.
Herbie: (begging) Mussel! Mussel! let me be. If
you do will pay you back with my cousin's other
kayak.
Mike: (answering back) I don't use those
things.
Herbie: (yelling) Mussel! Mussel! let me be.
mussel! mussel! Let me be. I will pay you back with my other wife if
you let me go.
Mike: (shocked) Really?!
Herbie: Yes I will give you my other wife it you
let me go.
Narrator: Later on the Mussel started to let the
Raven go just a little.
Mike: I don't believe you. I don't believe that
you really will give me your wife.
Herbie:I promise to give you my other wife if you
let me go.
Narrator: After that, finally the Raven got free.
and quickly ran to the shore. So it is that the Raven escaped the
mussel by tricking him. For the Raven was a trickster.
