Liz Fitka
Health Aide

Liz was born in Bethel in 1964. She grew up in a variety of places, including, Pilot Station, Bethel, Pitka's Point, and Mtn. Village. Her elementary years were spent at Pilot Station and she attended high school at Mt. Edgecumbe. Liz went to college at KUC in Bethel and studied Human Anatomy and Functions. She also got her GED from courses in KUC.

She has worked here in Marshall at the clinic for 8 1/2 years and doesn't know how long she will be working. Liz likes her job very much because it involves working with the people of the community. Wanting to know how to take care of people interested her, so she trained for the job.

There was a lot of training that she had to go through. She had the Presession then went on to Sessions I, II and Ill. She also got training in EU (Emergency Trauma Technician) and EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and refreshers. She received teleconferences on different diseases. And she has also gone into Bethel for EU and EMT refreshers.

She feels that her job really keeps her stimulated by keeping her busy and always expecting the unexpected. She likes taking care of people who are ill.

She has a husband, two daughters and a son. They are very supportive and she thinks they are the best!
