Garrett's Successful Catch

"This fall Nick Fitka Jr., Joel Isaac, Norma Evan and I went up to Goose Island, not expecting to see anything but geese. While we were riding around looking for geese we didn't see anything, so we went below Clem's fish camp where we saw a flock of geese flying out of somewhere. I told our driver Nick Fitka Jr. to go in towards the Old Landing. As we were heading for the OId Landing, and even before we got to the gold mine trail, we ran into some geese. We shot at the geese and killed two of them. Then we turned around and got the geese.

On our way out from the Old Landing we came across a moose. Nick said it was a cow and told us not to shoot it. It was dark out, so we couldn't see very well. Then when we got a little closer, we noticed that it was a young bull. I shot it in the back, and Joel shot in the back of the head. We were all happy I caught a moose. We butchered it as fast as we could because it was getting dark out. Then we came home."
