A seal Hunt

One day early in the morning the sun was out and it was very calm with hardly any wind blowing. II had breakfast, then woke my brother up. My brother told me to get ready. So I did. When we both were ready we went down to the dock.

After we started up the kick-er in our boat we headed off towards the ocean. lt sure was really calm and the sun was shining on the water. But the reflection was bothering my eyes, so I had to put on my sunglasses.

We decided to stop along the ocean shore a ways and look around for seals. As we were

looking, I asked my brother if he wanted to have lunch? He said "yes", so I went down to the boat and got the grub. I had a lot of fun looking around while the sun kept me warm. Then my brother told me to push the boat down.

Later on we went out into the ocean again. It was cold. He stopped the motor. And we sat there for about half and hour. As we were looking, my brother saw something. I had a hard time seeing because the sun was too bright for my eyes. When he pointed out a seal swimming in the water, then I saw it.

My brother told me to wait till it was close enough to get a perfect shot. So I waited for about 5 minutes until at last it was close enough. I shot it, and got it some where around the head. It dived fast so my brother and I waited till it came up from under the water. When it did it was far away from us. He started the motor and we went over to where it dived again. It popped up and I shot it once more. I hit it good this time and it stayed up for a while just floating on the surface of the water. But even though we sped over to it, before we got to the seal it drowned.

So we headed back home again. As we were traveling I watched the beautiful mountains and said to myself, "I wish the world could be like this all the time." When we arrived back in the village we went straight up to our house. It sure felt good to be home be-cause the house was so warm. My dad asked us what we had seen. I replied that we had shot one seal but it had drowned. My dad said only "Maybe next time you'll catch one." I agreed.
