Nora Tikiun's
Summer
This summer Nora worked in the clinic, went
to Anchorage, went berry picking, and
helped both churchs raise money.
Working in the clinic was good, she said,
because they didn't have very bad accidents or
emergencies.
Nora went to Anchorage in July because she
thought that her daughter was going to have surgery. While she was
there she went shopping for groceries and clothing. About a week
later she came back.
Nora also went berry picking across from
Pilot Station. The first day when she went out to pick berries it was
so hot she had to take off her rubbers.
The next day it was raining out
so Joseph,
Florence, Anna, and Paul had to go to Pilot Station. The third day
she came back home and started peeling salmon berries.
On August 11 and 12 she helped both the
Russian and Catholic churchs raffle all kinds of stuff to raise
money.
She said the summer went by fast and there
was too much rain.
