Norma Evan's Summertime
Tale
Norma Evan is a former high school student of
Marshall High School. She graduated last spring. Norma plans on going
to the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. This summer she did a lot
of things like go on many boat rides. She also worked at Hunter Sales
from the end of July through August.
Norma mostly traveled along the Yukon. The
places she went were down to Pilot Station, St. Mary's, Mountain
Village, and Russian Mission. She also went over to Bethel a couple
of times. Coming back from Bethel she stopped in a near village. She
said that village was pretty small.
Norma did a little mischief like taking her
brother's four wheeler and boat. That's where she learned how to
drive a boat. She also did a few more things like go swimming,
camping, learn how to shoot a gun, and other stuff. She and her
cousin Yvonne also got left on an island for fun. She went down to
Pilot Station to baby-sit. From Pilot Station she and her cousin went
back and forth to St. Mary's. They also took some boat rides in other
sloughs near Pilot.
Norma stayed out late most of the summer and
hung around with her friends. She and Yvonne also played basketball
on the basket she and her brother and cousin put up.
